When it comes to PPC (pay per click) advertising, it seems like the marketplace is getting continually more saturated and competitive, making it harder than ever to run a cost-effective campaign. This is true to some extent, but there are still ways to run a campaign that gets great ROI. Here are a few PPC bid management techniques you can utilize to do just that.

First of all, don’t get caught up in the moment and spend more than your budget allocates. This is probably the quickest and easiest way to erase any potential profit you might have brought in. PPC is a game of patience, and you must exercise it if you want to stick around long enough to reap the rewards. Remember that new players will always enter the game, and may get a bit carried away with their bids out of ignorance or lack of discipline. Don’t join in unless it is a very calculated decision. There are always fluctuations in the pay per click game, so you need to pick you spots.

The next bid management technique you should take into consideration is never bidding for the top spot. All too often, people want to feel the thrill of seeing their ad up there on the top spot of SERPs. But this is not financially realistic for most campaigns, and is a quick way to chisel away a good chunk of your margins. You need to let your ad sell your product or service, not the placement of your ad. Plus, consider that many people click on the top spot much more readily than the eighth spot. This means that you will be getting clicks from people who have no intent to purchase your product or service. Now you are playing a high price for low-quality leads, a double whammy. If you pay money for a click, you want that prospective customer to genuinely be interested in what you have to offer.

Another bid management technique that you can make work for you is bid jamming. Certain PPC services have a bid system that is public, allowing you to see the bids of all your competitors. If you have a very direct competitor, you can consider jamming their bid. Basically, PPC services operate similar to an online auction site. If you bid .25 per click, and the next closest competitor bids .13 per click, you will pay .14 per click not .25. So, if your competitor is bidding .25, you may want to bid .24 so that they pay full price for the bid. If you do, they may not be able to keep the top spot for as long.

These are some basic bid management techniques that can help you maximize ROI with your PPC advertising campaign. Remember that patience can go a long way to maximizing the efficiency of your PPC campaign. Don’t be afraid to wait for your moment, and then seize it when it comes.

Running your own PPC campaign is a really good strategy for maximizing sales with a little bit of focused online advertising. But if you just don’t have enough hours in the day to manage your campaign, you can utilize one of many PPC management services in the UK that will manage every aspect of your PPC campaign. The following is an overview of what to expect.

There are three basic features that PPC management companies offer. First, most will tout their ability to carefully research and choose effective keyword phrases that will form the backbone of your campaign. The results from varying companies should be similar, as they are viewing the same data. Most PPC management companies UK will try to get a nice and diverse mix of high traffic keywords and very specific phrases, creating diversity within your campaign and maximizing its success rate.

Secondly, the majority of PPC management companies will provide you the option of writing your own ads, or writing them for you. If you choose to have the company do it, they will likely charge by the keyword groups that your keywords are formulated into, as each will require a slightly different ad. This improves the relevance of your ads, and the chances that prospects will click on your ads. Perhaps more importantly, specific ads will increase your backend conversion rate once prospects are at your site.

Lastly, PPC management companies will offer to manage and track every aspect of your PPC advertising campaign and report these results back to you. This is probably the most valuable service to most companies, because it saves them so much time. Continually monitoring a PPC campaign and making the appropriate adjustments can be an extremely arduous and time-consuming task.

After taking these factors into consideration, you should determine if a PPC management service is a good fit for your needs. If you are conducting a smaller campaign, it will probably not be cost-effective to hire out a professional service. With a larger campaign, it may be worth it to save yourself valuable time. And, on a larger scale, you have a greater chance of offsetting these costs with increased margins. It is important to remember that a PPC management UK company will charge you for setting up your campaign, and then take a percentage of your monthly budget. If you can’t afford this double billing, then it may be best to run your own PPC campaign - something that is very doable.

If you are like a lot of companies dependent on client leads to keep afloat, you may be noticing a trend from some of the lead generation companies out there. Not only are the leads expensive, but they aren’t as strong as they used to be. We are hearing this again and again from our clients who are shifting their budgets to crank up the stronger quality pay per click search leads.

A lot of lead generation companies are using pay per click search to gather their leads. They will then mark up the cost it took to acquire them, or they will send them to multiple vendors and the quality to you is often poor. If this is your problem, maybe it’s time you skip the middle man and go straight to the source.

Jumping into Pay Per Click isn’t just a matter of setting up a website and contact information. You can certainly get results doing that — we see it all the time. But to truly compete and drive your cost per lead down, you need some sophistication.

When you launch a paid search campaign, you need to realize that everything in your pipeline, from what keywords to appear on, what ads to run, where to send them, how to get them to take action, etc. — all of that can be managed and optimized. Let’s examine two of these areas.

Let’s start with your PPC ad copy. You can certainly just place an ad and let it ride, but with the PPC algorithms placing more and more importance on Quality Scores, you need to pay close attention to your ads. If you can’t conduct daily split testing on your ads because of the time and effort, then try outsourcing to a PPC management company. A good firm should be able to double or triple your click through rates.

Maybe that doesn’t sound important, but it is. Doubling and tripling your quality traffic can do the same for your number of leads. And, it can lower your costs per click in the process.

But don’t stop there, look at your landing pages (the pages where you send your pay per click traffic). Are the contact forms too busy or too buried? Is your phone number buried? There are ton of things you can do to convert leads at a higher rate.

Fine tuning your landing pages will lower your cost per lead. We’ve seen small changes double conversions and drop your costs per lead in half. So, tinkering is well worth the effort.

Making the jump to PPC search may not be in your company’s core competency. If not, then outsource to a PPC management company. Their experts can mine massive keyword lists, pull keywords from your competitors, conduct the necessary and vital daily split tests, and give you insight into better landing pages.

Ditching those weak, watered-down leads and going right to the source can help your business boost its results dramatically.

When it comes to managing a Google AdWords campaign, you should consider a few strategies if you want to get the biggest return on your time. In the following article, we will talk about a few simple but effective pay per click strategies that you can use in your Google AdWords campaign.

The first Google AdWords campaign management strategy you should incorporate is keyword optimization. Make sure you do your research and are very selective with your keyword choices. This should also include screening out searches that have a low conversion rate by making use of the negative keywords feature of AdWords. This can be done right from the keyword toolbar.

Depending on the goals of your campaign, it may be cost efficient to utilize a cost-per-impression strategy instead of just a cost per click one. This is a way to create brand awareness for a cheaper price. Basically, your ads appear on relevant websites instead of just SERPs (search engine results pages). This is a way to reach a wider potential audience without having to pay a high price. It is also a way to put your ad in front of people who may be interested but had not thought to search for your specific term.

If you are extremely confident in your website’s ability to sell your products and/or services, and simply want to cast the widest possible net, then consider maximizing your keywords. One of the simplest ways to do this is simply by adding the plural and singular version of keywords that you are already making use of. If you sell laptops then include the singular form (laptop) and the plural form (laptops). Of course, you should probably be more specific than this unless you want to spend a small fortune on one days’ worth of clicks.

One other important Google AdWords Campaign Management tactic to employ is limiting your daily spending budget. If you don’t cap your budget on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, then a PPC advertising campaign can get out of control quickly. Make sure you allot yourself a certain marketing budget and then stick to it. You should never have to increase your budget on the fly in order to get clicks. If you aren’t getting clicks with a small budget, don’t count on an increased budget to fix the problem. After all, zero (or close to zero) times anything is still zero. Take a step back at the end of the budgetary period and re-evaluate your strategy.

Implementing some of these Google AdWords campaign management tips can help you experience success with your next PPC campaign. First think about the goals of your campaign, and then think about the best way to get there. Good luck.

by Brian Basch

Pay per click advertising is offering an exciting new trend in Internet marketing. The search engines have at last found a way to make money with online marketing. What do we mean by this?

Traditional methods of advertising were somewhat different. An ad would be paid for according to its duration not exposure. You would simply pay for your ad to be run for a certain length of time, regardless of how much exposure it got.

It could be shown in a variety of different places; newspaper, TV, radio and online, on a website page. Somebody decided that there could be a far better way to advertise online. It is true that not all Internet marketing methods give the same exposure; some methods give a lot of views, others less. For instance a website with heavy traffic will give your ad a great deal of exposure, so why not develop a system that pays the website host and advertiser?

If you raised prices for the advertiser you would risk losing customers. In fact it could also be detrimental to the credibility of your business. Customers and sales would be lost and your competitors will start to get the edge on you.

Pay per click advertising seemed to be the perfect solution. It is very simple to do; the advertiser builds an ad around a keyword and submits it to a search engine. When the keyword is inserted it will bring up the ad along with the search results. The advertiser to pays a nominal sum to the search engine for every click through from a visitor. Both advertiser and search engine will profit.

Search engines took this concept one step further and allowed advertisers to bid more on particular keywords to get a better position for their ad. This meant that the highest bidder would get the best place and the highest amount of exposure. Both search engine and advertiser can make better money this way.

Apart from Google and Google Adwords there are other pay per click engines. Many people tend to ignore this fact. Some better alternatives are; Microsoft Adcenter, Yahoo Search and Search Feed. If you want to make a profit with pay per click advertising you will need to explore these other options.

Using many different strategies to bring in traffic is a smart thing to do. Using multiple pay per click methods will help to boost your business and help you to make substantial profits.

In every corner of the Internet marketers are admiring the wonderful thing called Adwords. They appeal to the lazy, new entrepreneurs, who want to make money doing virtually nothing. They hold out hopes that 100’s of dollars can be made daily, with just 3-4 hours of work. Can this really be done? Very possibly, because Adwords has wonderful tutorials at the site, which make using Adwords easy. In fact instead of paying all that money to the “experts,” budding entrepreneurs can just learn all they want about Adwords form the site, for free.

There are 3 tactics that will help your Adwords campaign to succeed:

1. The first thing to do is to choose a winning keyword. In fact your keyword selection is critical to the success of your Adwords campaign. If your keyword is not good enough to draw sales then your whole campaign will fail. You will need to choose a keyword that can attract new leads to your business from a general market, but at the same time must also bring in leads from your special market.

Search engines will not give you any sympathy, you will be paying for clicks regardless of how well they may or may not be performing. Bear in mind that an ad based around a popular keyword can bring a lot of traffic but few if any sales. This is fairly common as the vast majority of marketers will just go to the search engine database and dig out popular keywords, and disregard the fact that these keywords are not targeted to their special market.

For more help on keywords you can go to the Adwords site at www.adwords.google.com Here you will find a wide selection of tools to help you choose the best keywords. In fact these tools are some of the best for pay per click advertising.

2. Bidding can be tricky. You will need to bid a certain amount to attain a good position. The average searcher will not generally look beyond 5-10 pages pf the search results before trying a brand new keyword.

This makes it a necessity for you to achieve a good placement and for your ad to be shown within the 5-10 pages range. Search engines will place ads according to the amount an advertiser has paid. The highest bid will be given the best place. When bidding always keep your budget in mind and do not let your campaign run out of money. You do not wan to spend large amounts of money to get top placements and then not be able to maintain them. To prevent heavy losses search engines give you the option to set a cap on your bids and only spend a certain amount per day or month. When you reach the cap you ad will be suspended.

3. Last but by no means least is the fact that you will need to manage your campaign. Ads can be unpredictable and you will not fully realize their performance level until your campaign is active. Pay proper attention to every part of your campaign to ensure success. Know how to adjust quickly if necessary.

So now you know what it takes to make a successful Adwords campaign. what is more all this information is free and you do not have to pay $54.99 for literature that may not even help you.

The Internet has become a large and growing market, with more and more people coming Online. This has resulted in a lot of competition for the small businessperson, making it hard for them to get the edge on the market. Because of this situation many business owners are trying to find alternative forms of marketing.

Google Adwords has come as a welcome option for small businesses trying to get ahead of the competition. Most online advertisers know about Google Adwords. Advertisers creating ads based on specific keywords do this method of promotion. The ads appear on the right hand side of the screen in Google search results.

If you do not know about Google Adwords you can see them in action when you look up a keyword in the Google search engine. You will see them under “Sponsored Links” on the side of search results. These little ads were made using Google Adwords.

Do not have any illusion that starting and managing a Google Adwords campaign is an easy task. No doubt it has the potential to skyrocket your profits and will give your ad wonderful exposure. However the downside is that Adwords is a pay-per-click program and will rapidly use up your advertising budget if not kept in check.

This is why you will need to be very careful to manage your pay per click marketing campaign properly. Firstly do your keyword research. You must target them correctly so that you attract the right people who will want to buy from you. At the same time you should not make them so specific that you do not get many views.

It is very important to compute your bids in order to be successful with your campaign. Some wasted leads are inevitable with online advertising and this will cost money. You should be aware of the benefits and risks of a campaign before embarking on it.

Obviously an advertisement will be positioned better if you pay 30-40 cents than if you paid 10-15 cents. This is because it will have far better exposure, given the fact that most searchers will not look further than the first 3-5 pages of search results. However positioning will not be very relevant if you get very few sales. In fact it will be a waste of your 30-40 cents.

When you start your campaign and choose your keywords, detailed management of your campaign is very important. This means checking how each ad and keyword performs. Bear in mind that an ad can attract traffic with no sales and waste a lot of money. Ads with links back to the home site can easily be tracked and monitored for traffic and sales. If your ad is not pulling in sales then you will need to make some changes, or just take it off.

For maximum efficiency, a campaign should be managed in detail. If time is short you can hire a service to monitor it. In fact when you hire a good company they can give you all sorts of suggestions to improve your campaign.

One of the driving forces in the PPC algorithms is your Click Through Rates. Spending time, effort and even investing in a PPC expert can help you to double or triple those rates. Not only will that increase your traffic, but it will lower your costs per click.

There are a lot of ways to improve click through rates. Most of them require some rolling up of the sleeves and some consistent effort. If you are not up for that, then consider hiring a PPC management company to do that work for you.

Relevant Keywords

Consider the person typing in the keyword you are advertising on. They want information on that topic. So, make your ad copy speak to them. Put the keyword phrase into your ad copy, if possible. Of course, this may not be easy to accomplish if you have one of those typical PPC accounts that pile keywords into ad groups. But the more you can address the person doing the search, the more your ad will interest them.

If your account is structured poorly with too many keywords into too few ad groups, then you should consider ditching it and starting over. Yeah, I know, that sounds extreme, but the results may be worthwhile in the long term. If it’s too much work for you to re-do, then definitely consider outsourcing.

Hunting for Negative Keywords

Click Through Rates are determined by the number of ads that get clicked divided by the number of impressions that were served. With that in mind, you want to make sure you are not serving up ads on keywords you don’t want to appear on. When you search for keywords that you want to advertise on, also take note of those other variations that you don’t want to appear on. Compiling these and using them appropriate can help drive up your CTRs.

Improving Your Ads

Few items can improve your CTRs as a well-crafted ad. You want your ads to inspire people…to compell them to click. You want to have a Call To Action. You may want to provide some kind of value statement to separate you from your competitors. There are a variety of methods and secrets to better your ad copy, but effort is sometimes the best approach. You want to run split tests.

Split tests are simply running and testing multiple ads on the same keyword. This may appear easy, but there are a variety of factors that come to play. What to test? How long to test them? How often to run split tests? Etc. We could get into discussing mathematical formulas to determine when is a valid split test done, but your eyes may glaze over. If you can commit yourself to daily testing, for continual effort and time…you will make an impact. Sure, you might make mistakes, but the real key here is effort. It will pay off.

Optimizing your PPC campaigns is more than just honing those Click Through Rates. There are ton of secret tips and techniques to it…but putting focus and effort on your CTRs is an excellent beginning. If you are in an expensive and competitive keyword market, you ought to consider hiring a PPC management company. They should pay for themselves and then some. If you don’t have the budget right now, then you’ll need to do the work. Chances our your competitors are getting more and more sophisticated. Don’t let them get the edge on you.

If you’ve tried to increase web site traffic with search engine marketing and search engine optimization but you still aren’t seeing the kind of web site traffic that you want to have it might be time to consider investing in some web advertising. There are different options when it comes to web advertising but the styles of web advertising used the most by businesses is and paid search advertising. Paid search advertising is a good option if you’ve already tried search engine marketing and search engine optimization because your site is already well set up for paid search advertising. Paid search advertising is paying to make sure that a link to your site and a description of site is placed at the very top of a search engine results page.

This is a smart move because studies have shown that people who are searching for a site will usually click on any one of the first five links at the top of the search engine results page and then they will stop. Consumers almost never click through to the second page of search engine results after doing a search. So paying to make sure that your site is at the top of the search engine results page can be a very effective way to drive traffic to your website. Figuring out how to manage your paid search advertising can be a little difficult if you’re not used to how web advertising works so you’re better off hiring a paid search management company to oversee your paid search advertising. When you’re setting up a paid search to increase web site traffic the keywords and key phrases that you choose need to be chosen carefully. A qualified paid search management company can help you set up your paid search to maximize the time and effort you’ve already put into using search engine marketing and search engine optimization on your website to increase website traffic.

Using paid search to increase web site traffic can be a very cost effective way to get the most of your search engine marketing. Essentially paid search web advertising is just giving your search engine marketing a boost and making sure that people see a link to your site before all your competitors. If your website deals with a popular topic then using paid search web advertising is really like insurance that your site make it onto the first page of the search engine results page.
